Kew Garden Transformation

Time, fashion and new pool regulations left this Kew home with a poorly placed, strangely shaped unframed swimming pool that dominated the most useable outdoor part of the garden. Coupled too with vast expanses of red brick and tired planting, it was overdue for a face lift. Read more

Project: Ascot Vale

This rear garden design is a hidden gem located at the back of a quaint single storey Victorian home which opens to a contemporary extension to the rear. When the clients first approached us they were not quite sure what they were wanting for the garden. Only that a pool was required. We couldn’t really ask for much […] Read more

Project: Malvern

This stately Victorian era mansion sits on a corner block with a generous front garden. The garden design demanded a measured response that echoes the restrained grandeur of the period. An over scaled flagstone path leads purposefully through the garden, creating vistas through arbours and directing the eye to various focal points and destinations within […] Read more

Project: Hawthorn

The unused and disconnected rear garden of this Edwardian heritage home was transformed into a beautiful, multi functional space. This is a grown up’s garden that was designed for such passive pursuits as lounging around the pool or enjoying an entire Melbourne evening under the glow of a gas heater with a few bottles of […] Read more

Project: Prahran

The E-GA website has recently had a little facelift and as part of the launch, we will be bringing you individual stories of various completed projects over the next couple of weeks.  Here we have an inner city townhouse who’s contemporary architecture is offset by a simple, soft edged landscape. The garden comprises three main areas; an […] Read more

Spring Has Sprung!

And on time this year too. With the heating off and our courtyard doors wide open it’s a good opportunity to share our newly planted office garden with you. We’ve got a tracery of Stainless wire cables weaving an intricate pattern over head and the deciduous creepers who are growing up the wires have just […] Read more

Things to do this weekend

If you haven’t got Liriope in your garden, then you probably don’t have an E-GA garden! By the End of Winter, between the snails, slugs and weevils, Liriope can be looking a little bit tired and ratty around the edges. This weekend is the perfect time to get in a give your Liriope a good […] Read more

B&A: A Lush Front Garden

Last week we visited this Melbourne home to see how well the front garden has grown.   Appearing very bare when it was first planted in 2004, the garden beds and nature strip are now lush and full.  Here are some before and after happy snaps:  You may remember the rear garden of this home was photographed last year […] Read more

Flinders: Vegetable Garden

The Mornington Peninsula has enjoyed a lot of rain this winter helping the vegetable patch at Flinders thrive.  Rick planted the garden a few months ago with vegies such as artichoke, white radish, herbs, beetroot, broccoli and garlic.  We drove down to Flinders last week to take look at the garden’s growth. We were excited to see how […] Read more

B & A: How does your garden grow?

This Clifton Hill garden started as a blank canvas. The property was purchased by the owners who lived on the adjoining block. A derelict house was cleared and levelled ready for a new garden that could be integrated into the existing established garden of the main residence. The brief given by the owners was broad […] Read more
