Recently we had the pleasure of a presentation from Danish Brick makers Annette and Christian Petersen. Accompanied by Peter Robertson, an old Australian brick maker himself, Christian and Annette gave us a fascinating presentation about the history and philosophy behind their handcrafted bricks.
Petersen Bricks were established in 1791 by Royal Danish decree and have been run by direct descendants of the family ever since. Currently Christian is the 7th generation of Petersen to run the yard and Annette his daughter looks likely to carry on the tradition in his stead.
Petersen Bricks have an incredible range of colours, sizes and finishes. They’re all handmade using special clays from across Europe and are fired and cooled to special recipes that give a unique colour and finish to every brick.
