This Surrey Hills garden is open this weekend as part of Open Gardens Australia. Designed by E-GA over 10 years ago, it was the garden that initially attracted the current owners and eventually led to them purchasing the property. The lush green front garden provides a welcoming sanctuary with abundant tree canopies and draping foliage.
The Boston Ivy clad pergola allows the owners to experience all seasons, providing shade during the summer months, displaying a wonderful autumn colour, and then allowing additional light during Winter.
Natural stone, generous beds and curved gravel paths give a sense of space against deep shrubberies. The pergola is surrounded by daphnes, oak-leaf hydrangeas, cordylines, liriope and hellebores to create a relaxed woodland feel. The bush oasis continues through the back garden with the presence of a couple of Spotted Gums in addition to the borrowed gums from neighbouring properties.
The entire garden is filled with green foliage of different shades of green and texture with seasonal colour including some winter flowering Hellebores and Daffodils.
Hazel’s Garden is located at 53 Croydon Road, Surrey Hills. It is open on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd from 10.00am – 4.30pm. Entry to the garden is $8.00. Click here for more information about Open Gardens Australia and the opening of this Surrey Hills garden.
