Come and explore this lovely garden in Surrey Hills next weekend as part of the Australian Open Garden Scheme. Viewed from the street, it is hard to spot this Edwardian timber home hidden away in the greenery.
The house has a new coat of colour giving the old sedate building a face lift to compete with the growth of the garden. Murobond Arizona was chosen by Rick to give the place a new lease of life. And the client went with it…to their now delight.
The garden is heavily in a jungle of green foliage and is the perfect foil to the strong rich oriental house colour. The rear garden is compartmentalised and connected by a creeper clad arbour and garden pathways.
The garden offers a wide variety of plants that are selected for their dry tolerance and their ability to blend and flatter the various combinations.
This planting combination of varying foliage sizes and colour mulching gives a free flowing, restful and casual mood. What we think a garden should offer!
Allow an extra hour to view this garden. Once you arrive you will want to linger longer. It has a great, very friendly and welcoming charm.
‘Cooinda’ at 10 Robinson Rd, Surrey Hills is open from 10am-4.30pm on the 24th and 25th March 2012. We look forward to seeing you there.
